Your Purpose

As the Director, Public relations you will play a critical role in defining our consumer voice. You will lead, design and execute creative and fun public relations strategies for all of Brightline’s Florida consumer facing media. We’re looking for a natural collaborator and a big thinker who can spot opportunities in everyday headlines while simultaneously executing big bold initiatives. We want a thought leader who understands the basics of PR, pushes boundaries and knows how to get things done while building strong internal and external relationships.

Your Role

Lead, develop, and implement comprehensive public relations strategies and campaigns to promote Brightline that are aligned with the organization’s goals. Including the development of our LATAM strategy.

Create and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to generate positive media coverage.

Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other materials to communicate key messages and announcements to the media and the public.

Serve as the organization's spokesperson and represent it during interviews, press conferences, and public events.

Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and executive leadership, to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.

Stay up to date with industry trends, political climate, current events, and emerging issues that may impact the organization's reputation and recommend proactive strategies to address them.

Manage and maximize the PR agency of record.

Monitor media coverage and prepare reports to evaluate the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and identify areas for improvement with plans to address them.

Generate unique initiatives that will generate headlines and drive business objectives.

Measure and report on the effectiveness of PR programs and initiatives and use the data to inform future strategy.

Maximize brand presence on various channels.

Proactively identify and pitch media opportunities.

Partner closely with cross-functional teams to support key business initiatives, such as product launches, corporate events, and partnerships.

Prepare and implement crisis communication strategies and plans.

Partner with the Safety and Security team on safety campaign efforts and oversee the relationships with Operations Lifesaver.

Your Qualifications

10+ years of media relations experience in politics, travel, hospitality, transportation, or leisure

Proven track record in creating unique content series that drive media, recognition, and social content

On-camera and on-the-record experience

Established a network of media contacts and demonstrated the ability to build relationships with members of the press

Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR strategies

Proven track record of building relationships with senior executives, serving as a trusted partner

Experience in developing & leading crisis communication

Experience negotiating and managing PR agencies

Experience defining relevant KPIs with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to measure program effectiveness

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Deep understanding of the media landscape, including digital and social media trends.
