We are excited to announce we are looking for a strategic leader to drive the execution of Gala's financial strategy. The CFO will be a critical strategic partner to the executive team, responsible for leading the accounting, finance, and FP&A functions. This role requires a leader who can provide financial insight and drive business performance, ensuring the company's financial health in a fast-evolving market. The ideal candidate will have experience in the crypto industry, including blockchain technology, tokens, and options trading, and be capable of leading financial operations and strategy in a web3 environment.We're looking for a Finance Executive to lead external relationships, forecasting, and planning. This role involves managing banking and investor relationships, market-making, and collaborating with various teams across Gala. A successful candidate is an intellectually curious and hardworking individual ready to help our company prepare for continued rapid growth.We are seeking visionary business leaders with deep subject matter expertise and proven leadership experience to take our company to the next stage. The focus is driving new strategic initiatives, growing the existing business, including new and existing partners, and leading and managing teams. They will also manage their P&L. Most importantly, we need leaders who embody a “yes and” mentality, embracing challenges with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a drive to figure things out and deliver impactful results.Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives and industry trends.Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team, helping guide critical business decisions.Lead and manage the accounting and finance team, including FP&A, financial reporting, tax, audit, and treasury functions.Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.Monitor and manage liquidity, working capital, and capital expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources.Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to crypto-specific financial regulations and reporting requirements.Lead initiatives around tokens, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain assets, including financial modeling and reporting for these areas.Manage risk and compliance related to cryptocurrency transactions and implement best practices in crypto finance and accounting.Oversee market-making and listing activities, ensuring effective risk management and strategy execution in alignment with business objectives.Engage with investors, partners, and stakeholders to communicate the company’s financial performance and strategy.Support capital raising initiatives, including equity and debt financing, and explore new avenues of funding in the crypto space.Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and technology to support scale and operational efficiency.Essential Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (CFO or similar), ideally within the crypto or blockchain industry.Strong knowledge of crypto markets, blockchain technology, and tokens.Experience with market-making and managing related financial risks.Deep expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, and treasury management.Proven ability to lead finance teams through periods of growth and scale, ideally in a high-growth tech or crypto environment.Experience working with stakeholders, including investors and board members, and presenting financial performance and strategic plans.Excellent understanding of financial regulations, particularly in the crypto space.A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, as well as an MBA or CPA, is preferred.Experience with DeFi, NFT platforms, and other web3 financial ecosystems.Familiarity with fundraising strategies in the crypto industry, including token sales, ICOs, and equity financing.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator.Excited by problem-solving.Fearless.Nice-to-Have Skills & Qualifications
