We are seeking a
Business Analyst – Data Scientist
to join an innovative supply company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data manipulation. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop predictive models, and provide actionable insights that drive business strategy and decision-making, with a heavy emphasis on dashboard development.Essential FunctionsCollect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources.Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.Develop and test hypotheses to drive data-driven decision-making.Build and validate predictive models and machine learning algorithms.Utilize statistical techniques and tools to analyze complex data sets.Create models from the foundational level and optimize for accuracy, performance, and scalability.Develop data visualizations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.Create dashboards and reports to provide ongoing insights and track key metrics.Present complex data findings in a clear and actionable manner.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and data needs.Provide recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic initiatives.Work closely with IT, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to identify business requirements, support data needs, and drive system enhancements.Travel may be required up to 10% to customers, vendors, and operational facilities.Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Minimum 4 years of overall business experience, including Data Science, Marketing/Product Management, or Category Management Analysis.Experience with Nielsen or IRI data preferred.Strong strategic thinking and root cause problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in data extraction from SAP tables, with familiarity in SAP functions such as SD and MM.Strong experience with Alteryx for data preparation, automation, and workflow management.Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.SQL experience preferred.Developed financial literacy and business acumen.Ability to work independently and proactively toward corporate or departmental goals.
