Our biotechnology research client, located in Rockville, Maryland is seeking immediate need for an experienced Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and development of internal control policies and procedures. This candidate's responsibilities will also include financial risk management.Location:
This position is hybrid 4 days a week in office in Rockville, MD.Responsibilities:Oversee all accounting functions, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Project Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports.Generate and publish monthly financial statements in a timely manner.Investigate technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes and participate in monthly finance committee meetings.Manage state and federal tax compliance, including reviewing tax returns and filings.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.Perform additional controller duties as neededRequirements and skills:Proven working experience as a Financial ControllerOver 7 years of comprehensive accounting and finance experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferredIn-depth understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and proceduresFamiliarity with Deltek CostPoint is a plusABOUT BGS CONSULTING:BGS Consulting is a professional services firm, located in Tysons Corner, VA, delivering finance and accounting resources with deep operational experience to fill the direct hire and project-based needs of our clients.
