Our client, who is based in northern Virginia, supports leaders in the federal government by providing technology-enabled resource solutions to increase their team's productivity and transform the efficiency of the workforce. The Company leverages the executive team's decades of experience supporting mission-critical scenarios in both civilian and defense environments. Our client is seeking a Controller who will be responsible for managing all aspects of the organization's accounting and financial functions.Responsibilities:Financial Statement preparation and ownership.Key owner of GL financial system (Costpoint) with plans to migrate to Unanet in the futurePartner with the Treasury functionLead and manage a team of 8-10 employees including responsibility for AP, AR, Payroll, Billing, GL, & Technical Accounting, Banking & TreasuryProviding management with timely reviews of the organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activitiesKey partner for the finance organization on teaming for the consolidation of actuals and forecastAdvise management on operational adjustments as neededAudit, Tax and Government compliance leadPrepare reports as requested/required by regulatory agenciesRegularly review/update internal control environment, and maintain oversight over GL dataDevelop and implement policies/procedures for master data maintenance and reporting (GL account structure, profit center reporting, cost center reporting)Automate master data maintenance requests and approval workflowsSeek out and continue to look for ways that the GL and closing processes can be automated or improved to create and improve efficiency across the accounting/finance organizationDevelop, improve or implement policies and procedures for balance sheet account reconciliations and ongoing monitoring and governanceDrive results to meet individual, team, and department objectivesPerform other accounting related duties as assigned by managementCollaborate with other departments on special projectsIdentify potential areas for improvement and provide solutionsQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience15+ years of experienceExperience in a large government contracting companyCostpoint and/or Unanet experienceLeadership of a team of 5 or moreExperience working in a PE environmentCPAStrong analytical skills, research skills, and business acumenStrong attention to detailSelf-starter with proven ability to spearhead projects with minimal supervisionComfort working through ambiguity and in a rapidly changing environmentStrong communication skillsABOUT BGS CONSULTING:BGS Consulting is a professional services firm, located in Tysons Corner, VA, delivering finance and accounting resources with deep operational experience to fill the direct hire and project-based needs of our clients.
