We are seeking a

Cellar Worker I

to join our Wisteria Production team. This is a permanent full-time position with benefits (not just for harvest). Under general supervision, a Cellar Worker I assists with racking, pumping, clarifying and blending juice and wine and general bottling procedures. You will also be responsible to operate and care for filters, pumps, presses, hoses and other cellar equipment. You will help to check the temperature of tanks during fermentation, stabilizing and storage.

This is an on-site position based in Paso Robles, CA and the work schedule is Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) with the exception of harvest season, when overtime and weekend work may be required.

Job Description

Assists with general bottling line procedures such as loading the box machines, applying pallet stickers, stacking finished cases, and conducting visual inspections to identify any defects or inconsistenciesGases head space on partial tanks and records accurate measurement of volumeMixes tanks as needed for cold stability and samples tanksMonitors temperature of wine tanksMakes chemical and yeast additions to wine as neededPerforms volume calculations for wine blending and wine movementsTransfers, racks, filters, and blends wines as neededAssist with still wine barrel workCleans, maintains and organizes barrels as neededResponsible for monitoring and replenishing cellar inventory of suppliesAssists in set up and clean up duties, including cleaning of labeler parts, hosing down floors, and storing packaging materialsSanitizes cellar area equipment and tanks, maintaining a clean and organized work environment at all timesAssists with all other harvest duties

Prior harvest cellar experience required; 1 consecutive year of bottling preferredStrong communication skills desiredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a fast-paced environmentManual labor involved ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds requiredFlexible and willing to work overtime and weekendsAbility to work in a cold or hot climate dailyMust be able to perform basic calculations

Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
