This is a position for a Med/Tele RN at CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center.*MUST HAVE PCU experience & be able to read strips*.- # of Beds: 32.- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5, occasional 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow on the unit 1:3.- Common diagnosis/Types of patients: adults and geriatrics, Cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, and ETOH, Covid Bipap, occasional general surgical with heart history, medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia covid, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, sepsis.- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Tele/cardiac RN wanted with PCU experience, Epic preferred, ok with first time travelers.- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: yes, both shifts, occasionally take a light load 2-3 patients.- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Tele portable monitors and monitors in the rooms, and tech at the nurses station.- Are RN's required to read their own strips? RN to read and interpret.MORE DETAILS- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low dose Dopamine, No Levo.- RT Equipment: Bipap, trachs, airvo etc.- Shifts & Scheduling: If rotating shift, rotation will not occur more than weekly. Manager to make schedule, will consider blocked schedule based on unit needs.- Weekend Requirements: Every other.- Holiday Requirements: Every other.- Floating Requirements: All areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load of PCU, MS for full patient assignment, some ER Holds/boarding.- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: any color scrubs.- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 2- 12 hour shifts, on own by end of first week of orientation.- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.Job Requirements

- Must have PCU experience and be able to read strips.- Experience with Tele/cardiac duties and PCU routines.- Experience with handling common titratable &/or set rate drips.- Proficiency with RT Equipment like Bipap, trachs, airvo etc.- Requirement for RNs to read and interpret their own strips.- Qualifications: BLS, ACLS.Schedule Information

- Shifts: 7a-7p, 7p-7a.- If rotating shift, rotation will not occur more than weekly.- Every other weekend requirement.- Holiday Requirements: Every other.Unit Specific Information

- More of a tele/cardiac unit.- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
