Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Outside Sales Representative for the Southern/Western Cook, DuPage, Kane and Will County regions in Illinois.

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the golf & sports materials sales process including identifying, pursuing, and following up on new business as well as maintaining & establishing business relationships with key accounts.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Sell and promote a highly regarded line of golf course, sports, and organics’ materials and services within our target market
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with private and public golf course cliental, equestrian applications, sports field / turf managers, municipal entities, operating partners, and internal operating support groups
  • Identify new business and target specific accounts and prospects to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Participate and attend golf & sports industry association events to include annual and monthly meeting(s) that requires golf outing participation.
  • Daily face to face interaction with industry cliental soliciting high end products and services based off internal inventory requirements and customer demand maximizing value and company profitability
  • Market liaison to executive management and operation management providing strategic market feedback relative to competitive strategies
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s products, services, and policies.
  • Provide product and delivery proposals to customers and negotiate pricing / terms as required. Tracking quote follow-up through a pipeline report
  • Attend weekly remote and monthly in person sales progress meetings in our Antioch, IL office to present sales plans and strategies, discuss status of projects and provide sales forecasts
  • Review the accounts receivables and initiate collection communication to ensure the completion of the sales process
  • Investigate and provide solutions to customers’ product concerns
  • Professionally represents the company at industry, trade association, customer, legislative and technical meetings, and various social and business functions.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and supportive work environment
Job Details

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience is mandatory, preferably in golf course & sports turf materials related products or services
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Understands golf course management and basic agronomy
  • Able to demonstrate past success at managing the sales process and achieving sales goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to navigate geographically within the Chicago region and southern / western collar counties
  • Independent problem solver who works well in a team environment
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and random screening thereafter
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, sit, stand, walk for extended periods
  • Ability to tolerate noise and temperature variations
