Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year

With almost 300 employees, we maintain a rental fleet of over 7,000 units spanning 5 million square feet and over 1,400 storage containers. We are hiring for a Senior Project Accountant (Construction) to join our accounting and finance team. Our ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of project accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge and has a deep understanding of construction project accounting.

Salary: $90-120k annually

Job Details

Our dynamic construction company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This full-time, permanent position is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the financial success of our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our construction projects, from initial budgeting to final cost reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Overseeing all aspects of project accounting including setting up projects, processing invoices, and preparing monthly financial reports.
2. Collaborating with project managers to develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and profitability analysis.
3. Ensuring timely and accurate recording of project costs and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
4. Conducting financial risk assessments and implementing appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
5. Analyzing project performance and providing insights to support decision-making.
6. Liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
7. Providing financial training and support to project managers and other team members as needed.
8. Continuously improving project accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you should have:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field.
2. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices, including project costing, revenue recognition, and risk management.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Experience with construction management software is highly desirable.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
8. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate issues and implement solutions.
9. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
