We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Controller to join our fast-paced team in the energy industry. This role is crucial to our company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful financial reporting. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on our business, directly contributing to our financial strategy and decision-making processes. Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of the accounting operations including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses.
  • Leading the ERP implementation process, ensuring seamless integration and maximum operational efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial statements, including comprehensive analysis and forecasting.
  • Managing company funds, overseeing the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities, including revenue/expense and balance sheet reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
  • Coordinating and leading the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors; preparing and presenting year-end financial accounts.
  • Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining financial controls and policies.
  • Ensuring all financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation, including GAAP.
  • Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Managing cash flow and forecasting; directing all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating the company’s financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. An MBA would be a plus.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial position with proven growth track record.
  • Should have startup experience
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven experience with ERP implementation.
  • Proficiency in financial statement preparation and review.
  • Solid experience in year-end close processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • Strong ethics, with a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
