The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller to ensure the company’s financial processes run smoothly and that all financial records are maintained accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards. This role provides an exciting opportunity to delve into various aspects of accounting and finance, and to make a significant impact on our company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable: Manage the entire AR process, including generating and sending invoices, recording payments, and reconciling customer accounts.
  • Accounts Payable: Oversee AP functions, including processing vendor invoices, issuing payments, and managing vendor relations to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Payroll: Prepare and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
  • General Ledger: Post and reconcile journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and other routine transactions.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash accounts.
  • Expense Management: Oversee expense reporting and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial statements and supporting documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal accounting regulations and guidelines.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports as needed to assist the Controller in financial planning and analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in the accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks or other accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, with good knowledge in Excel.
  • Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
