Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Step Down Job Specialty: Stepdown Intermediate Care Job Duration: 13 weeks (possibility for extension based on interest) Shift: 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM Guaranteed Hours: Experience: License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)- Successful completion of a rhythm test Must-Have: - Relevant certifications as listed above Job Description: - Unit Capacity: 36 Beds- Provide specialized care for patients in Stepdown/PCU settings- Handle continuous Bipap, low-dose vasopressors, trauma patients, lumbar drains, and more- Care for CIWA patients on higher doses of Ativan, hyponatremia, emergency dialysis patients- Manage cases of Hyperkalemia, antifreeze ingestions, home vents (trachs)- Perform sheath removal, carotid endarterectomy (CEA), and handle rhabdomyolysis cases- Administer Precedex, monitor stroke patients with Q2 neuro checks- Work with stable craniotomies, fentanyl drips- Serve a diverse age population from young adults (18+) to late adults- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3- Core staffing includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns- Assume full responsibility for team patientsThis position offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ideal for RNs seeking to expand their stepdown care skills.
