Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and services.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and blueprints to understand the scope of work and to develop appropriate cost estimates.
- Manage project budgets and track costs throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring optimal financial performance.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather detailed information for estimates.
- Utilize project management tools and Microsoft Office suite to maintain organized and accurate project data.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and contracts.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Present estimates and conduct cost-benefit analyses to stakeholders and senior management.
- Continually update knowledge of market trends, pricing, and construction processes to ensure the most accurate and competitive estimates.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Proven experience in project management and construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Exceptional skills in cost tracking and budgeting.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and project management software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
