Job Details

Operations Manager for Asphalt Paving Company. Position oversees grading, paving and concrete crews. Must have significant experience in the field leading and directing crews in commercial grading, paving and concrete.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years supervisory experience running jobs and leading crews in asphalt paving and civil site construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Ability to check and set grades using a laser level.
  • Ability to handle a large workload and manage multiple projects at a time.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and determine appropriate and most cost-effective construction methods and work force requirements.
  • Develop schedule, establish sequence and timeframe of construction activities.
  • Oversee all aspects of construction operations including supervising foreman and crews, coordinating and managing materials, equipment,

schedules, budgets, change orders, and safety.

  • Recognize and solve problems affecting production.
  • Recommend methods for improving equipment, processes, or operating conditions to increase efficiency or quality.
  • Responsible to ensure construction work is in compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Plan and assign employee schedules and employee duties and oversee employee training.
  • Crew hiring, performance reviews, discipline and termination decisions.
  • Monitor equipment productivity, usage, maintenance and small tool inventories.
  • Schedule and oversee trucking subhaulers.
  • Coordinate with and oversee performance of subcontractors.
