Are you ready to take the helm of financial operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Division Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This role is a key leadership position within our finance department and will report directly to the Corporate Controller / CFO. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements, budgets, internal controls, Job Status Reports, and revenue projections. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial health and growth of our company.
Responsibilities:
As a Division Controller, your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Prepare and manage the company's annual budget, including the review and analysis of budget proposals and financial planning.
- Prepare Job Status Reports and provide detailed analysis to management on project performance, cost savings, and other key financial metrics.
- Develop and deliver accurate revenue projections to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to finance staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with other department heads to align financial management with operational goals and objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the role of Division Controller, you must possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
- Proven experience in budget preparation, internal controls, Job Status Reports, and revenue projections.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
