The Opportunity

We're looking to fill a Senior Business Analyst position at RFA Bank of Canada!

RFA Bank of Canada is seeking a full-time Senior Business Analyst for a newly created role to support the integration of system and process changes which are driven by RFA Bank of Canada's strategic activities and/or based on external factors driving the need for process changes. The ideal candidate will have experience in a regulated Canadian single-family residential lending environment and has experience in analytics, user acceptance testing and systems development.

A key focus for this role will be ensuring any system driven or process related changes have been fully tested and understood prior to changes being implemented. Another key responsibility will be the ongoing testing and monitoring of the quality of the Residential Underwriting data from vendor partners to ensure variances to the data are understood and managed accordingly.

Core Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:

Process and Systems Management:
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize the Residential Underwriting process with a focus on continuous, incremental improvements.
  • Develop process workflows and diagrams to document and analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to perform business requirements analysis for system or process driven solutions to ensure clear alignment of the business needs and the technology solutions used.
  • Identify project issues/roadblocks and steps for mitigation and resolution.
  • Conduct ongoing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with stakeholders to ensure that the delivered solutions and upgrades meet the agreed-upon requirements.
  • Ongoing configuration and maintenance of systems to support operational processes and quality controls.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business processes and systems.

Change Management:
  • Develop training materials and user guides to support effective implementation of new systems or processes.
  • Provide ongoing support for implemented system and solutions as the initial contact to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Collect feedback from key stakeholders to discover areas for improvements and provide enhancement recommendations.
  • Work closely with business and technical team members in support of technology-based solutions

Data Management:
  • Develop and manage reports, dashboards and other data driven tools.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Document any changes to data requirements and downstream impacts related to the implementation of new or enhanced processes or systems.


What You'll Need to Succeed
  • 3+ years of federally regulated Canadian residential mortgage experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in analytics and systems development.
  • Undergraduate degree is an asset.
  • A high proficiency in either Microsoft Excel or Power BI.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage operations, credit policies, including credit principles, practices, processes, products and services.
  • Well-developed communication and interactive skills, verbal and written, sufficient to provide clear and detailed explanation and interpretation of information, analysis and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in performing functional testing in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with a strong ability to identify system defects and other issues that may impact operations across various scenarios.
  • Ability to manage pressure in an environment of high-volume processing with tight turnaround times.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
