Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Walk In Clinic / Overview
Provides primary care to patients, collaborating with and under the direction of physicians in the clinic, following established standards and practices. Helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. Educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. Conducts physicals, orders tests and serves as a patient’s primary healthcare provider.
Key Responsibilities And Expectations
Education/Experience
Minimum **
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or Completion of Physician Assistant program
Possession of an NPI (National Provider Identification) number, as evidenced by the receipt of a copy of the notification assigning the number
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or PA program
Three (3) years of professional experience
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
License/Certification
Minimum **
Current NYS License
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)certification or Physician Assistant Certification.
Current NYS license and certification with New York State Education Department
Documentation of current CPR certification required within one (1) week of hire, with maintenance of current CPR certification during employment
Certified Prescriptive Privilege in NYS

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Possession of Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD)Number
** $130,900 - $152,700 Annually
Work Environment
All work is performed in offices and patient examination rooms that require working in close quarters with other employees and patients. The offices are air conditioned/heated. Travel to other UHS Physician Practice locations may be necessary.PPE is used as required by Infection Control policies.
