Job Title: Outreach and Engagement CoordinatorGrade: 23Salary: $80,026 - $91,122The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH), in collaboration with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and the New York State (NYS) Office of Mental Health (OMH), is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Outreach and Engagement Coordinator (OEC) in Albany, New York.The NYS Equitable Transition Model (ETM) Demonstration Grant Project aims to increase access to critical services for multiply marginalized, transition-aged youth and young adults with disabilities (Y&YAD) leading to post-secondary education credentials, employment, and financial self-sufficiency. The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator (OEC) will be the primary lead team member and resource for Outreach and Engagement Specialists (OES) activities, responsibilities, and related tasks. The OEC will establish essential connections with state and local officials who both provide support and who operate programs that support multiply marginalized youth, creating the top-down support and buy-in necessary for local ETM implementation. Because the ETM project is being implemented in various NY regions, candidates must be able to periodically travel for day trips and overnights. Candidates must exhibit strong leadership, problem solving, self-direction, time management and prioritization skills, and have an ability to effectively organize competing demands. This candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable representing NYS in a professional leadership capacity.A successful candidate should be proficient in Microsoft products, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Essential to this work is a strong belief that individuals with disabilities, including those with the most significant barriers, can obtain competitive integrated employment within the general workforce, side-by-side with co-workers without disabilities, when provided the appropriate level of individualized services and supports. Duties and Responsibilities:Duties and Responsibilities include:•Coordinate with ETM Leadership Team to Ensure ETM fidelity;•Ensure local activities are clearly presented to ETM Leadership Team and potential partners;•Convene OES and Youth Access Coordinator local staff regularly to assist with troubleshooting, ensure essential connections are being made, and provide oversight and support;•Monitor local OES and YAC activities to ensure teams are achieving engagement goals, and strategize alternative activities as needed;•Join OES staff in meeting with local officials and program representatives as needed; and•Establish methods illustrate the effectiveness of local outreach, engagement activities, and outcomes to potential partners, stakeholders, and key decision makers.Minimum Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, social work, public policy/administration, special education, or similar field. Other degrees will be considered given relevant experience. •5+ years of program oversight, management of a team, community engagement, systems coordination, and/or outreach, incorporating models that support individuals with disabilities.•Ability to travel throughout NYS for planned day trips. Travel requirements can range from once a week to once a month depending on the phase of project implementation. Occasional overnights will be required.Preferred Qualifications:•The ideal candidate will possess direct experience serving and/or overseeing programs that support individuals with disabilities and/or other marginalized populations in their communities to achieve employment and/or education goals. •Knowledge of local, state, and federal support systems, including education, disability services, public benefits, foster care, children and family services, vocational rehabilitation, psychiatric rehabilitation, or related topics is preferred.
