A bachelor’s degree or higher. High school teaching experience and Waldorf teaching credentials are preferred. If coming without Waldorf teaching credentials, the applicant will be required to participate in additional professional development/Waldorf training, possibly from an outside credentialed program. Duties include teaching a majority of the following art courses: TEACHING
the following classes dependent upon scheduling capacity: Grade 9: Black/White Drawing, Black/White Painting, Mosaics Grade 10: Weaving, Clay Modeling, Printmaking Grade 11: Watercolor, Book Arts Grade 12: Oil Painting, Stone Carving, Main Lesson Block: History of Architecture HS Studio Art (elective or club) ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Hire and supervise adjunct instructors as needed to supplement the teaching schedule. Building beautification as it currently exists (bulletin boards, art displays, mosaic projects). Entering student artworks into local annual HS Art competitions. Report writing/grading/letters of recommendation, etc. In addition, full-time faculty responsibilities include: Classroom teaching, including class preparation and grading. Work with adolescents with a variety of learning styles and different levels of skill and ability. Advise up to 10 students, which includes parent meetings and writing college recommendations. Sponsor a class, which includes parent evenings, class activities, and conducting weekly class forums. Curriculum development. Professional development/Waldorf training. Attend Department and Faculty meetings and participate on committees. Participate in planning and chaperoning student trips/activities (includes week-long trips in May, possibly a week-long trip in September, school dances, field trips). Attend and assist with school events and fundraising. Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents. Manage and maintain classrooms(s), physical spaces, equipment, and supplies. Compensation:
The compensation for this position includes a salary range of $51.5K - $64K and our full benefits package which includes health, disability and life insurance; dental reimbursement; retirement plan (after 1 year of employment); optional dental, vision and illness/accident insurance; professional development support; and tuition remission for the teacher’s children attending WWS.
