POSITION TITLE:
ACE Cook
REPORTS TO:
ACE Executive Chef
STATUS:
Non-Exempt
LOCATION:
A Catered Experience
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chef, this position is primarily responsible for the accurate preparation and cooking of all food products, to ensure a consistently high quality product. This individual is also responsible in assisting the Chef in managing all daily operations of the kitchen and ensures that all equipment is in working condition and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares for the day by gathering all items necessary for cooking food products in large quantities.
- Cooks menu items in accordance with prescribed recipes.
- Assists Chef to maintain inventory for goods in chill, freezer and dry/canned goods on a weekly basis.
- Assists with packing and wrapping of cooked items for each event with proper color codes.
- Assists with maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen on a daily basis.
- Puts all equipment away in their proper place.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Scheduling:
- Must be able to work flexible shifts according to the needs of the assignments and/or catering or banquet functions.
Physical Ability:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reaching/bending frequently
- Good speech and hearing necessary for communicating with other employees, managers, and the public.
Mental Ability:
- Action-oriented (exercising initiative to follow-up and follow through)
- Detail-oriented
- Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass drug screening test and physical exam
- Must have passed a TB test within 5 years of start date with skin test or chest x-ray
- Must have valid current Hawaii State Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.
Environmental Conditions:
- Outside and Indoor Functions
- Working in extreme temperatures from a hot kitchen to chill and/or frozen room.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Prior culinary experience and/or education required.
