$17.87/hr - $17.87/hr Role and Responsibilities
Part-Time Sound and Security personnel (unarmed) supporting the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) located at Port Hueneme, CA. Must be adaptable, flexible, dependable, and able to work various shifts (M-F, weekends, holidays). Position Duties
Perform shipboard internal/perimeter foot patrols, taking hourly equipment meter readings. Conduct security patrols to detect or prevent acts injurious to personnel or property. Notify supervisors in emergency situations. Maintain a visible presence, observing and reporting unusual activity, investigating questionable acts or behaviors observed or reported on the ship. Ensure only authorized personnel, shipyard vendors, or appropriately identified persons access the ship. Respond to reports of injured personnel and notify appropriate personnel if additional assistance is needed. Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years old. No criminal record; able to pass background check. Valid driver's license and own transportation. Ability to follow company policies and procedures. Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing) and capable of writing clear, detailed reports. Ability to complete paperwork documenting meter readings and security activities. Preferred Skills
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years security experience. Physical Requirements
Ability to climb shipboard vertical ladders. May be required to get underway to support mission operations. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must pass a USCG Physical Exam. Pay Details
The hourly pay rate is $17.87. Night shift hours (11 PM - 7 AM) include a differential of $20/hour. Additionally, an hourly Health and Welfare benefit of $4.98/hour is provided, up to 40 hours/week, totaling up to $796.80/month. Paid Time Off and Holiday Payouts are also provided based on hours worked. Additional Information
