Overview
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Receiver is responsible for ensuring the accurate and seamless reception and processing of incoming shipments. The Warehouse Receiver must receive and record the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock while adhering to prescribed policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Receiving of Incoming Materials
- Offload and put away all raw materials, supplies, equipment, stores materials and tooling as per established procedures
- Hook up and unloading of rail cars and tanker trucks of resin
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records as per established receiving procedure
- Deliver packages to appropriate personnel
- Forward packing slips to Purchasing
- Enter all receipts in the LX system within 24 hours of receipt
- Advise Purchasing or contact on the packing slip of any discrepancies
- Ensure accuracy of all scanning transactions in the LX system as well as physical movement of product throughout the warehouse
- Responsible to maintain cleanliness of receiving area including office and dock
- Fulfill all HACCP requirements and report any critical control point non-conformances
- Properly maintain forklift/reach truck and ensure daily vehicle checks are conducted and Check Sheets are appropriately logged
- Ensure the Warehouse is maintained in an orderly fashion, completing housekeeping responsibilities as required
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years forklift experience in a fast-paced Production/Manufacturing environment
- Must be a licensed forklift operator (both Raymond Reach and Counterbalance)
- Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple departments
- On-the-job training specific to the job provided by Polytainers in addition to training on Health & Safety, SQF policies, WHMIS and cGMP policies and procedures
Working Conditions
- Job requires both office and warehouse/plant exposure
- Both areas are subjected to high noise levels and the warehouse/plant area may have high levels of dust
- Must wear protective equipment when required. Protective equipment will be provided by the company
- Works as part of the Warehouse team and has frequent contact with other Polytainers Team Members as well as externally with drivers, suppliers, etc.
- Frequent periods are spent sitting at a desk, with some opportunity to move about
- Works in a fast-paced environment, often faced with deadlines and need for accuracy. Incumbents must be prepared for tight deadlines and frequent interruptions as part of normal working conditions
