Role: Mechanical and Assembly Technician
Summary:
Acculon Energy is a Columbus, Ohio systems engineering firm specializing in energy storage and cloud-connected solutions. Acculon is uniquely capable to design, prototype, and provide commercialization services that enable OEM customer programs to go further, faster, and safer.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in prototype builds of battery, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Operate and troubleshoot ultra sonic wire bonder (Hesse BJ985).
- Interact with engineering team to improve and test prototype assembly processes
- Create initial assembly work instructions and documentation
- Inspect incoming parts and materials under quality and inventory team direction
- Periodically support manufacturing offsite
- Get your hands dirty daily.
- Minor fabrication and welding
- Application of adhesives in assembly processes
- Operation and maintenance of 3D Printing
- Maintenance of equipment (Wire Bonder, Forklift, Pallet jack, facilities, etc.)
- Operation of benchtop lasers and test equipment
- Setup of basic bench manufacturing equipment (leak tester, digital torque wrench, etc.)
- Operation of prototyping equipment such as dispense robot systems or similar
This is not an exhaustive list - we need you to throw your energy where the day requires.
Requirements:
- Relevant job or field experience and/or certifications as a mechanic, HVAC, electrician, CNC operator, or similar technology services field.
- Competency using welding/joining equipment.
- 3D CAD experience a plus but not required.
- 2-5 years’ experience in a technically oriented job - such as electrician apprenticeship, CNC machining experience, mechanic experience, welding experience, or similar.
- Experience managing facility areas and processes a plus (shop floor).
- Experience working with batteries is a plus.
- Strong technical communication skills.
