College Discovery - Non-Teaching Adjunct GENERAL DUTIES Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise. CONTRACT TITLE Non-Teaching Adjunct FLSA Exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION The successful candidate will report to the Director of College Discovery. Job Duties: Provide instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance. Collaborate with faculty and College Discovery staff to identify specific student academic and study skills issues. Prepare lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to students' needs and goals. Maintain records of student's tutoring sessions. Outreach and preserve open communications with students. Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops and other academic support services for small groups of students. Compose end of semester report of student's assessment and final grade. Manage data and create charts for reports, surveys and assessments. Facilitate Freshman Summer Experience. Participate in trainings and program/college events. Other duties as assigned. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Expert knowledge in one or more academic area such as math (College Algebra, Calculus and Statistics), English, Science, or other. Skills: Candidates should have excellent communication skills (oral and written), active listening skills, critical thinking skills and a commitment to student success. Technologically literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint; comfortable using different database and check-in systems and familiarity with Blackboard, Navigate systems. COMPENSATION $47.42 per hour. BENEFITS CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
