His strategic goals include upholding the Alley's artistic excellence, keeping longtime Alley Theatre devotees eager to return each season, creating productions and cultivating new audiences.Rob Melrose, Managing Director Dean Gladden and the Alley's leadership team are committed to fostering an environment where everyone is encouraged to bring their authentic selves.JOB STATEMENT The Season 79 Production Assistant is a non-union member of the stage management team, actively assisting and supporting during pre-production, rehearsals, performances, production related meetings and events as determined by the Production Managers and AEA Stage Managers. The Season 79 Production Assistant multitasks on Alley Theatre seasonal productions, as assigned, and has stage management team responsibilities and duties as requested. This position is a one year-long seasonal position that may be renewed once for a second season pending evaluation.JOB DUTIES Attend daily rehearsals and performances as assigned. Assist the AEA Stage Managers in performing assigned tasks required during the preproduction, rehearsal and performance processes. Work alongside stage managers, Stage Ops Supervisor, and Wardrobe Supervisor assisting with running and coordination of rehearsals and performances as assigned, including running/swinging production show tracks.Assist Literary department with script management as well as production script management on new worksAssist Production Management on assigned projects.Assists Associate Production Manager on maintaining Stage Management spaces, including inventory and upkeep of rehearsal hall and supplies.Attend full staff meetings, Organizational Culture and Wellness meetings, as well as professional development opportunities as available.Study and understand the LORT collective bargaining agreement with Actors' Equity Association (AEA), the union of professional actors and stage managers. Adhere to the Alley Company policies, including any and all safety policies.Actively engage in education and development of anti-oppressive and inclusive practices and policies backstage and theatre wide.Receives First Aid/CPR/AED training and is able to assist in First Aid emergencies.Additional duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE):Team player with strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude Ability to work in a fast-paced, energized and quickly changing environment A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills Detail oriented, able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task Ability to be self-directed and take initiative Should be highly organized and detail oriented Strong communication skills, both written and in person Ability to maintain confidential information Computer proficient with Word, Excel Understanding of (or a commitment to learning about) historical and institutional racism in the American theatre.Professional theatre work experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods of standing during show performances. Ability to lift and move 25 lbs. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where directions and priorities can change rapidly.
