Job Summary:
• Support the development and launch of new and enhanced vehicle connected services via mobile phone platforms such as Android, iOS or Windows Phone. • Develop and advance existing and new linking technologies on SYNC to interface with mobile application. • Write, manage, and maintain product use-cases and software specifications. • Manage working relationships both internal and external clients. • Ability to interface with many teams throughout the company, other nationalities/countries, and time-zones. • Open to traveling on a monthly basis to support feature testing, business meetings, and public relation events. • Candidate must have prior experience leading a project from conception to launch including effective management of software suppliers, testing and troubleshooting procedures, and leadership in the resolution of issues. • Identify mobile market leaders, develop working relationship with technical teams, exercise mobile API set and provide feedback to partners on ease of integration. • Continue build out of SYNC mobile APIs and SYNC platform roadmap to improve integration with 3rd party devices and cloud based services (Location Based Service, off-board VR). • Continue to evangelize and expand the open-source Smart Device Link platform both internally and externally. • Job includes program management reviews and software test planning.
Qualifications
Skills Required:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields. • 3 years of development and engineering/software experience which can include graduate work projects. • Strong development experience with the following: C, C++, Objective-C. • Experience using the following development platforms: Linux, QNX, and Android. • Good knowledge of mobile marketplace trends, application stores and carrier go-to market strategies. • Prior experience in wireless devices, telematics, Bluetooth, TCP/IP and Wi-Fi connectivity. • Extensive experience with in-vehicle networking technology such as CAN, Ethernet AVB, MOST, etc.
Additional Information
Skills Preferred:
• Masters of Computer Engineering or equivalent. • Understanding of cloud-based delivery ecosystems and connected car technologies. • Extensive experience with in-vehicle networking technology such as CAN, Ethernet AVB, MOST, etc. • Familiarity with Git source control. • Experience with API and web service design. • Experience with some of following: Qt, Tk, OpenGL, WebGL.
