Location –Denver
Reports to – Supervisor, Lease Records
Role – Anschutz Exploration Corporation is seeking a Senior Lease Analyst for the Denver office. The Senior Lease Analyst will be responsible for the review, set up, and maintenance of oil and gas leases and land contracts per acquisitions, drilling program, land calendars, and incoming title. The ideal candidate will have at least eight years in lease analysis with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Analyze and set up oil and gas leases, rights-of-way, unit designations, and other land agreements
- Maintain and update agreements per incoming amendments, releases, ratifications, etc
- Monitor and update agreements according to the monthly pay, obligation, and expiration calendars
- Analyze monthly obligations, calculate, and set up minimum royalty payments, options to extend, delay rentals, water use, shut-in, and surface damage payments
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies to help maintain high level of data integrity
- Liaise with GIS, Accounting, Land, and IT groups as necessary for daily responsibilities and special projects as well as landowners and government agencies
- Support land with due diligence activities related to acquisitions and divestitures
- Resolve and respond to owner relations inquiries directly related to Lease Records
- Generate various land reports
- Work with the technology team to continue to buildout and improve the team’s dashboards
Experience and Education
- 8+ years of Lease Records experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Additional Skills
- Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment with multiple priorities and projects
- Advanced knowledge of land including:
- Lease, royalty, and joint interest partner concepts
- Laws and regulatory provisions related to oil and gas extraction
- Contract administration
- Monthly land calendar
- Understanding of tracts and depths, and ownership and interest types
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations
- Familiar working with and maintaining electronic files
- Action oriented and results driven with the ability to think outside the box
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects timely to comply with contractual and statutory requirements
- Ability to be flexible, collaborative, and professional under pressure and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication, organization, recordkeeping, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management with ability to determine priorities in alignment with the business needs.

Benefits and Anticipated Compensation
This role is eligible for both short- and long-term incentive opportunities. AEC offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, employer paid life and disability insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, and wellness support.
The starting rate for this position is expected to be between $105,000 - $125,000, based on experience, qualifications, and internal pay alignment. Final compensation may vary from this range depending on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s education, skills, prior experience, and evolving market conditions. This range represents Anschutz Exploration's good-faith estimate of the pay for this role at the time of posting.
