Chief Accounting Officer (CAO)
to join our leadership team of our flagship Non-Traded BDC, Apollo Debt Solutions, within our Credit business. The CAO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for the fund, ensuring compliance with the Investment Company Act of 1940, and maintaining the integrity of financial operations within the fund. This leadership position will work closely with the senior management team, fund administrators, auditors, legal and compliance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information, as well as adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting : Oversee the preparation and presentation of the fund’s financial statements in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and the 1940 Act.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure the fund adheres to the regulatory requirements under the Investment Company Act of 1940, including compliance with applicable SEC rules and regulations, tax laws, and any other relevant local or international regulations.
Accounting Operations : Work with the fund’s internal accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Audit & Controls : Oversee the external audit process, working closely with auditors and providing all necessary documentation and data. Continually monitor and enhance SOX/internal controls to prevent errors and safeguard the fund’s financial assets.
Valuation of Assets and Liabilities : Ensure accurate valuation of the fund’s portfolio, including investments, debt and derivatives, as well as compliance with applicable pricing and valuation policies.
Risk Management : Work closely with compliance and risk management teams to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Investor Reporting : Collaborate with internal sales, marketing and product support teams to ensure integrity of data and reporting, including performance metrics and other relevant financial disclosures.
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
10-15 years of relevant accounting experience
In-depth knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, including the preparation of Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other regulatory filings specific to BDCs or other regulated entities
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, including senior leadership and board members
