Compensation: Commensurate upon education & experience - range is $38/hour or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position. Coordinate day-to-day nursing operations across units to ensure efficient care delivery. Schedule nursing staff in line with patient acuity, budgetary guidelines, and staffing ratios. Maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and other departments. Provide support and guidance to clinical staff to promote education, empowerment, and job satisfaction. Communicate regulatory or clinical issues to appropriate unit managers and leadership. Contribute input to employee evaluations and participate in leadership initiatives. Remain clinically competent and available to assist at the bedside as needed. Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations and patient care needs. Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Experience:
Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required. Prior leadership experience preferred (1+ year in a similar supervisory or charge role). Required Licenses/Certifications:
Current RN licensure in North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association at the time of hire. Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to patient safety and team collaboration. Competency in delivering safe, effective nursing care within licensure and policy guidelines. Understanding of nursing care across the continuum and quality improvement principles. Physical Demands:
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting (50+ lbs). Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and physical mobility required. Prolonged periods of physical activity per shift. Working Conditions:
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and clinical hazards. Variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. May require quick response to emergencies and fluctuating workloads.
