Location: Greenville Outpatient Clinic (GOPC), Greenville, SC, and Columbia VA Healthcare System (CVAHCS), Columbia, SC
Contract Period: Base Year + Four Option Years
Schedule: Various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Hourly: 23.00/hr plus 4.93 for Health and Wellness
Work Hours:
- Greenville Outpatient Clinic: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (excluding federal holidays).
- Columbia VA Healthcare System: Various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood collection using venipuncture, finger stick, and other appropriate techniques.
- Ensure proper patient identification and accurate specimen labeling.
- Collect and process urine samples and provide proper patient instructions.
- Perform specimen accessioning, data entry, and tracking in laboratory systems.
- Maintain phlebotomy supplies and ensure proper inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and laboratory policies.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and staff.
- Transport specimens to appropriate departments and follow packaging protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 24 months of experience as a phlebotomist or national/state certification.
- Three letters of recommendation from lab supervisors, clinical instructors, or physicians.
- Compliance with VA background investigation and health screening.
- U.S. employment eligibility.
- Certification of health fitness to perform duties.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission and VA policies.
