ASRC Federal is seeking a Certified Network Cable Technician with experience in network cabling infrastructure. The Network Cable Installer will be involved with the design and deployment of the communication infrastructures that practice the basis of local area network (LAN) infrastructures. This position requires an understanding of information technology hardware, and the candidate should be project-focused with the ability to generate task procedures and dependencies required to execute large and small tasks. This position will report to the Hardware Team Lead and work with the Hardware Team to ensure tasks such as cabling, wiring, communications systems, and audio-visual hardware repair are executed in MDA Testing Labs. The candidate should be able to report status in Tier Level 1 helpdesk ticketing system. Assist in a fast-paced team at the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Advanced Research Center (ARC).
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-9 years related work experience/knowledge of computer and network systems in HWIL environment
- Secret clearance required.
Required Skills:
- Experience/knowledge of computer and network systems in HWIL environment
- Proven knowledge and history of fiber and copper cabling
- Audio Visual (AV) Systems understanding and troubleshooting
- Network Voice Communications Systems
- Ability to lift IT equipment during installation and removal along with installing communications cabling under a raised floor structure
- Ability to use tools of the trade, such as cable/crimping tool, screwdrivers, wire cutters, voltage meters, circuit tracer.
- History of installing and implementing network connections/wiring and computer hardware
- Ability to adapt to change and solve problems
- Attend meetings and respond to leadership questions in a timely manner
- Build diagrams, charts, and briefing slides
- Certifications in related field
- 2-9 years related work experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) Environment
- Experience in Digital Audio-Visual data systems
- CTS-I Certification
- Security+ Certification
- Experience working in secured spaces
Experience with ticket management systems such as Manage Engine, Remedy, or ServiceNow.
