Video editing tasks like creating string outs, versioning existing content, as well as ingesting, organizing, and archiving footage and final projects Creating captions/subtitles and graphics like text on screen Working collaboratively with producers, editors, and channel leads to edit multiple video formats including scripted and unscripted content from raw footage to final product in a way that is native to the intended platform Managing multiple projects on tight and shifting deadlines, as well as multiple feedback rounds with notes from producers and video leads Working with producers to ensure consistency and style guide adherence across all delivered assets Occasionally assisting with on-set productions Keeping up with the latest platform video and cultural trends, especially in key areas of home & living, style, and gifting, ensuring Etsy shows up authentically on each platform Maintaining the integrity of the Etsy brand, ensuring that our content is uplifting and inspiring to buyers and sellers alike, amplifying Etsy’s mission of keeping commerce human The Assistant Editor Will Demonstrate
2+ years experience editing social media video for a large brand or publisher Expertise in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, as well as in-platform editing and creation tools on social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Experience in post-production workflows, from organizing footage and projects to exporting final videos and archiving assets Basic knowledge of color correction, sound editing, and motion graphics is a plus Experience filming both lo-fi and hi-fi social video on an iPhone and camera is a plus Strong organizational skills and attention to detail An understanding of the ways in which social video content comes to life and how it is different from traditional video formats A keen awareness of the difference between successful consumer and brand content A passion for supporting small businesses, creativity, and craftsmanship Hours and Location
Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week Hybrid - 2x/week minimum on-site in Brooklyn We offer a competitive salary range for this position.
