Lubbock Country Club, a prestigious golf club founded in 1921, seeks a skilled, service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional dedicated to exceptional member and guest experiences. The club is in an exciting new phase as a large-scale facilities renovation project has been approved by the membership and will begin in the summer of 2025.
We are seeking an energetic individual who is a self-starter, reliable, and passionate about delivering exceptional member and guest experiences in a private club atmosphere. The Assistant Golf Professional at Lubbock Country Club will assist with all aspects of the golf operation. This is a full-time position with primarily a 5-day work week throughout the year. The primary responsibilities include providing excellent customer service to members and guests on a daily basis, tournament operations, teaching, golf shop merchandising, tee sheet management, monitoring play on the golf course, supervising outside service operations, club repair, daily course setup and playing golf with the membership on a weekly basis. Lubbock, Texas is home to Texas Tech University and has a great college town atmosphere.
Experience Required
- Preferably a PGA member in good standing or a PGA Associate working to become a member
- Preferably a graduate of a four-year college
- Previous experience at a private golf club preferred, but not required
Essential Responsibilities
- Opening and closing duties of the golf shop
- Attending to the needs of all members and guests
- Supervising and assisting of golf shop associates
- Supervising and assisting with outside services
- Tee sheet management
- Tournament operations
- Golf car fleet management
- Assisting in inventory and displaying of merchandise
- Club repair
- Conducting private lessons with members
- Utilizing Clubessential POS, TrackMan, Golf Genius, Excel and Microsoft Word
- Playing golf with a variety of members on an average of once a week
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, and work outside / inside
