The Department of Cancer Immunology & Virology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Located in Boston, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute together with Harvard Medical School brings together innovative scientists, world-renowned clinicians, and dedicated professionals as allies in the common mission of conquering cancer. The Department of Cancer Immunology and Virology focuses on cutting-edge research on the role of the immune system in cancer, including the development of novel therapeutics. Members of the department actively engage in collaborations with translational and clinical investigators to translate basic discoveries into clinical advances. The Department of Immunology at HMS studies basic immunological mechanisms and their relevance to human diseases. Membership in both departments thus opens many opportunities for exciting collaborations. Both departments are actively engaged with the Graduate Program in Immunology, which includes a diverse community of HMS and affiliated immunologists with expertise in many facets of this dynamic field. Faculty may interact with the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to develop collaborations using cutting-edge technologies in genetics, genomics, and single-cell biology.

The academic appointment will be in the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School, which provides mentoring, the ability to closely interact with HMS scientists, and access to core resources. The position is funded and will be located at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The position provides an attractive start-up package and outstanding opportunities for collaboration with basic and translational investigators. Successful appointment to Assistant Professor will be based on evaluation of research experience, training, and achievements, including teaching activities.
Candidates with an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. are eligible to apply. Candidates will be expected to participate in the teaching activities of the Harvard Medical School for medical students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
