About The Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst and Tester to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation annuity operations processes and systems. This role will gather and document requirements from stakeholders while also designing and executing tests to ensure solutions meet specifications. This dual focus enables this individual to maintain quality throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to final delivery.
Responsibilities span from eliciting business requirements and creating user stories to developing test plans and performing both manual and automated testing. With expertise in both annuity domain knowledge and testing methodologies, this role will ensure applications not only fulfill business objectives but also meet rigorous quality standards before implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis
- Elicit and document detailed business, system, and implementation requirements
- Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements based on business value
- Create user stories and maintain the product backlog
- Document requirements in formats accessible to multiple stakeholders (QA analysts, developers, business sponsors)
- Translate business needs into technical specifications
- Create test scenarios and test cases required to meet business requirements
- Support business users in conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Perform various aspects of verification including integration testing, functional testing, and regression testing
- Design complex testing scenarios that demonstrate conformance to functional and non-functional requirements
- Validate test data and ensure it meets established standards
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks to streamline testing processes
- Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) concepts and their application to Agile testing
- Ability to use and configure automated testing tools (scripts or other available testing tools)
- Maintain automated test suites and develop new tests as required
- Experience with BDD testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
- Provide analysis skills throughout the project life-cycle (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation)
- Work as part of an Agile team building trust with the business
- Support overall project objectives and team deliverables
- Coordinate with developers and QA teams to ensure quality and testing standards are met
Required
- 4-6 years of experience in the annuity industry in a Business Analyst or Testing role.
- Knowledge of annuity processing methods and necessary business rules.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the annuity industry.
- Knowledge of eApp and policy administration systems (e.g., Firelight, FAST).
- Understanding of business process automation.
- Experience with efficient requirement elicitation methods.
- Experience with business requirement documentation on Atlassian platforms, including conversion to technical specifications.
- Experience partnering with technical staff in solution design efforts.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with test management tools.
- Experience building test beds for moderate to complex projects.
- Strong organizational and task management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of test automation practices.
- Experience with test scripting or other coding skills.
- Knowledge of data governance concepts and practices.
- Experience with AI tools to augment other capabilities.
