Posting Details Position Information Working Title: Associate Director of Residence Life Department: University Housing Compensation Title: Associate Director, Residence Life Position Number: 30001792 Position Status: Regular Work Schedule: 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday; Some nights and weekends required. Hours per Week: 37.5 Months per Year: 12 Purpose of Position Northern Kentucky University is seeking an Associate Director of Residence Life for University Housing. Reporting to the Director of University Housing, the Associate Director provides leadership for residence life, including campus partnerships, learning-living communities, assessment, evaluation, enrollment management, and retention. This individual works closely with the Director to develop a residential environment fostering personal and academic growth. Supervisory responsibilities include one Assistant Director of Residence Life, one Residence Life Coordinator, one Coordinator for Residential Education, four Residence Hall Directors, three graduate assistants, and up to 64 student staff. Primary Responsibilities Supervise Residence Life staff, including recruitment, training, and development. Develop and oversee assessment of residential learning models focused on community engagement, cultural competence, academic success, and leadership. Manage daily hall operations, including occupancy, inspections, duty schedules, and data collection for crime, retention, and quality of life. Oversee residence life budget and spending procedures. Build relationships with campus partners to develop academic initiatives and support underrepresented students. Serve as judicial officer for policy enforcement, appeals, and student concerns. Qualifications Master's Degree in relevant fields preferred; five years of professional Housing/Residence Life experience; two years of live-on experience; supervisory experience with full-time staff. Equivalent experience includes 7-10 years in Housing/Residence Life, with specific live-on and supervisory experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Skills include planning, organization, communication, crisis management, and working with diverse populations. Preferred qualifications include experience with residential curricula, crisis mitigation, staff development, and documentation.
