Must be willing to undergo background check and drug testing Summary: The Engineering Manager will oversee the effective operations and mission of the Engineering Department. The role of the engineering department includes development of control systems and sensor solutions, control products and application support, testing and regulatory compliance. Specific responsibilities include mid/long-term planning, cost management, budget development and control, process development and improvement, customer support, product application and solution development, new product introduction, change control, sales support and new product introduction in collaboration with parent company. Essential Functions: Development and management of departmental budgets Development, visualization, and monitoring of KPIs for the engineering department Management, promotion, and monitoring of customer-required processes Management of tasks, deliverables, and workload of engineers within the department Direction of the transition of customer/market requirements into product design Cost analysis for projects, reporting to executive management, resource allocation management, definition of project governance policies, and project cost management Provision of technical support and training related to products, solutions, and new product introduction Maintenance of product documentation including BOMs, drawings, specifications, software, and manuals Promotion and management of the new product/solution introduction process Identification, reporting, and mitigation of technical and business risks Management, promotion, and participation in all aspects of the product lifecycle Maintenance, promotion, and analysis of knowledge management processes and data Management of engineering change processes Development of an annual plan based on reflection of previous results Evaluation, planning, and management of resources to fulfill the engineering mission Efficient maintenance of interface and collaboration with the Quality Department Effective utilization of the Voice of the Customer Training, evaluation, and support for the growth of team members Establishment of development process standards Supervisory Responsibility: This position will indirectly supervise Electrical, Mechanical Engineers, and Application Engineers. This job operates in an office and laboratory environment, customer and supplier site. Utilization of standard office equipment, lab equipment, design, engineering and analytical software. General Requirements: Working Knowledge in MS office. Working knowledge of Solidworks, Matlab, Minitab and other developmental and analytical software. Physical Demands: While performing this position, the employee will regularly be required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Must have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Gowning and cleanroom dressing at customer sites. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, hours determined by supervisor. Travel: Occasional overnight or extended travel. Some international travel is expected. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required. Minimum fifteen years of progressive supervisory experience in an engineering role. Knowledge and experience with modeling/simulation methods and software packages. Knowledge and experience with control systems and control system design. Knowledge of semiconductor processes related to mechanical and electrical engineering is a plus.
