Position at Berkeley Research Group, LLC. BRG's Global Construction practice is a multidisciplinary team that has a strong foundation in project management, scheduling, and accounting combined with deep construction consulting and industry experience. BRG experts have extensively advised clients and their outside counsel to assess allegations and facts at issue. We are experienced in litigation and domestic and international arbitration, and include professional engineers, project management professionals, registered architects, AACE Certified Planning and Scheduling Professionals, Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners, forensic accountants, and industry leaders. We are currently seeking a seasoned professional with forensics and litigation advisory experience for our construction practice. This person needs to be located on the West Coast in major cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Portland, or Seattle. Candidates located in East Coast and Mid-West regions will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
Ability to build and lead high-performance teams: Leverage the collective through strong teaming and collaboration; continuously develop self and others.
Develop new and leverage existing client relationships, grow the firm’s construction capabilities, help serve our clients' ever-changing needs on the West Coast.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on a range of projects and/or asset management functions including defect analysis, delay & disruption analysis, claims and change order preparations, discovery, and standard of care.
Consistently deliver high-quality work that achieves optimal client and project outcomes.
Assist in building leading practices and operations by constantly innovating to stay ahead of our clients and our competitors.
Assist in setting strategy for the group, lead major client engagements, develop brand and marketing collateral, direct business development efforts, and manage the group.
Provide strategic recommendations for project/group and overall business that will directly impact achievement of results.
Understand BRG core services and recommend solutions and resources outside of team/practice.
Monitor and ensure client satisfaction with overall service and quality of deliverables.
Establish an expectation for high-quality standards for self/team in all aspects of client relationship/sales cycle.
Define a compelling value proposition aligned with the client's challenges and needs.
Adhere to engagement acceptance process within established policies and time frames.
Define strategy and manage multiple and/or complex engagements.
Take a leadership role in professional or community organizations and promote a positive image of the Firm.
Write and present topics of interest to clients and industry peers on webinars, at conferences, and through journal papers, etc.
Ensure key performance management milestones are met for self and team; actively participate in calibration process.
Pursue opportunities to expand own capabilities and refine and further develop expertise to meet evolving market demands.
Attend, and encourage team to attend professional development/training opportunities; instruct sessions as needed.
Provide frequent and meaningful written and verbal feedback in a timely manner; offer guidance on performance matters.
Recruit and integrate new talent to Firm and practice area.
Champion a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree with a focus in engineering or construction management is required; MS or MBA is highly preferred.
Minimum eight (8+) years field experience in the construction industry; Prefer those with both onsite construction management and consulting experience.
Cost estimating, change order pricing, prepared time requests, and/or experience in managing claims in the consulting industry.
Developed, prepared, maintained, updated, reviewed, and analyzed schedules (P6, MSP, and any other scheduling platforms).
Must have excellent technical writing skills.
Experience working collaboratively with and leading teams.
Ability to work independently and remotely, and travel for client work when needed.
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $275,000
