Summary
The Outreach Specialist implements activities in the community (primarily within Cuyahoga County and may include the other Northeastern region's counties (i.e. Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Erie, and Huron) to recruit and engage pregnant individuals and families with young children including those with developmental delays and disabilities for the Help Me Grow system of supports. The Outreach Specialist assists with organizing events, developing and maintaining relationships with individuals and organizations across the Northeast Region of Ohio, and presenting to referral sources and community stakeholders, and shares information and resources with families. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of the prenatal to 5 population in Cuyahoga County.
Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities) Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, public speaking, community relations, or related work. Experience conducting outreach in professional and community environments preferred. Experience with pregnant individuals and families with young children preferred. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. word processing, electronic spreadsheets, and presentation software), email applications, and internet usage. Intermediate skill level preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records. Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments. Ability to organize, establish, and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system and office procedures. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public, staff and patrons. Ability to work independently with general direction. Ability to meet monthly, quarterly, or annual outreach goals.
Education/License Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.
Valid Ohio Driver's License and appropriate insurance coverage.
