Responsibilities
Perform care as defined by the client’s individual Plan of Care and within the scope of the state’s Nurse Practice Act
Provide those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill
Monitor the patient’s condition and notify appropriate personnel of any changes
Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in the computerized Medical Record in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
Counsels the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs
Requirements
Current unrestricted RN license in the State of Virginia or Multi-state Compact designation.
One (1) year minimum experience working in ICU, step-down, or ER with wound care, IV insertion, and port access experience.
Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills; analytical/critical thinker
Ability to have flexible hours based on client population.
Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred e
xperience : Peripheral IV starts/maintenance & IV Infusion Therapy; Injection and self-infusion training; phlebotomy for adult and pediatric patients; CVAD experience & knowledge, Port access, Wound Vacs, and PICC line maintenance.
