About the ACT Hub Platform
Actuate's ACT Hub Platform is a building automation and management platform using AI for the management of portfolios of buildings with no facilities manager on site. The ACT Hub Platform features include mechanical system fault detection and diagnostics and key performance indicators with an automated work order system for predictive maintenance, alerts and notifications routed to the right stakeholders, automated lighting and thermostat setpoints and schedules that maximize both comfort and energy savings, and tracking of facility and equipment energy and operational performance. It additionally acts as an IoT hub for any facility device, control, sensor, or piece of equipment that may be monitored and optimized.
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy
Business Development Lead
to help multi-location businesses transform their facilities management through our ACT Hub Platform. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, connecting multi-location commercial and mid-market businesses operating large portfolios of buildings with our innovative solutions that reduce energy consumption, lower maintenance costs, and optimize building performance.
As a
Business Development Lead , you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities within the commercial and mid-market segments. Your primary focus will be generating and nurturing leads that account executives can convert into long-term partnerships. You will serve as the critical first point of contact for potential clients, articulating our value proposition and demonstrating how our technology-driven approach can revolutionize facilities management.
Key responsibilities of the
Business Development Lead
include but are not limited to: Identify and research potential mid-market clients that operate multiple locations across sectors such as food service, retail, healthcare, senior living, automotive services, and hospitality Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies through cold calling, email campaigns, and social selling to generate new business opportunities Qualify leads by conducting initial discovery calls to understand prospect needs, challenges, and objectives related to facilities management Schedule and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and account executives to advance the sales process Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities, conversations, and lead statuses in our CRM system Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to refine messaging, understand target customer profiles, and develop features that resonate with our prospects Research and stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, and market developments in facilities management, IoT, and energy efficiency technologies Track and report on key performance metrics such as lead generation, qualification rates, and pipeline development Represent Actuate at industry events, tradeshows, and networking opportunities to expand our market presence Provide regular feedback to management on prospect pain points and market opportunities to inform product development and marketing strategies Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years experience in business development, sales or related roles, preferably with SaaS-based, energy efficiency, or other energy-related solutions Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and performance metrics Strong understanding of consultative selling approaches and ability to communicate complex technical solutions in clear terms Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot, or similar) and AI-based sales enablement tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage prospects effectively via phone, email, and in person Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and online platforms with the ability to learn and master new software applications through a combination of organized training, online tutorials, and independent learning Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals A passion for technology-driven solutions and a desire to make a positive social and environmental impact on the world An ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, working both collaboratively and with a high degree of autonomy PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education Sales or business development experience in Clean-tech or energy efficiency Experience prospecting or selling to franchised or multi-location businesses Management or team leadership experience Understanding building systems, energy management, or facilities operations Additional Information
