AmeriCorps Catholic Charities USA is a national organization supporting 168 member agencies dedicated to reducing poverty through services like affordable housing, food, health, disaster relief, social enterprise, workforce development, and immigration services. The Family Strengthening Program aims to support low-income individuals across all life stages—children, youth, adults, elders, families, and communities—by providing services such as case management, childcare, adoption, college prep, life skills, pregnancy and parenting support, housing, literacy, employment, foster care, and more. This VISTA position is part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national project. As a member, you will virtually connect with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs nationwide, all focused on alleviating poverty. Member Duties:
The VISTA will enhance the capacity of children, youth, and family programs across Catholic Charities, providing resources and expanding the current CCConnect group with tools on evidence-based practices, trauma-informed approaches, youth development, and family poverty reduction. They will develop training and educational materials on youth development, pregnancy support, and adoption, and use data to create fact sheets and resources. The VISTA will promote strategies to reduce family poverty through a two-generational approach, engaging both adults and children in integrated services. Program Benefits:
