POSITION DETAILS
Principal Summary
Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for the success of manufacturing process performed at Leslie Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining the manufacturing processes of components, subassemblies, and top-level assemblies while meeting all design and quality requirements. This position will also serve as the liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Operations.
Principal Activities
- Define, maintain, and control the technical standards for use by Manufacturing Engineers
- Define process control requirements and lead PFMEA activities
- Support the growth of constructive relationships between all departments of the organization and other Circor locations globally
- Mentor and develop the technical abilities of other Circor employees
- Evaluate complex manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from shop floor workforce
- Participate in the evaluation, procurement, and start-up of new capital equipment with a focus on modern technology
- Lead trouble shooting efforts on and off the shop floor in RCCM activities
- Be the prime contact on high-level Manufacturing Engineering projects
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and/or participating in professional associations
- When requested, take on a leadership role in CIRCOR Operating System (COS) activities
- Achieve and hold government clearance as needed
- Travel as needed, anticipated as less than 10% of working time
- Provide manufacturing and manufacturability input for production planning, design, or repair
- Update the ERP system with proper process routing and other manufacturing support information
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology such as SMED and Kaizen events
- Engage with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts to necessary specifications/quality standards and evaluate products according
- Design layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency
