Overview
The Central Monitoring Technician provides continuous monitoring of cardiac telemetry patients and communicates heart rhythm changes or irregularities to the bedside care team. Continuous surveillance by the central monitoring team ensures an enhanced layer of safety for the patients that need it most.

Day/night rotating, 07a-7p and 7p-7a, 36 hrs/wk. Night and weekend differential.

Responsibilities
Continuously monitors cardiac rhythm and recognizes, identifies, analyzes, and documents arrhythmias, abnormal cardiac rhythms, rhythm changes and promptly reports pertinent findings or changes to the clinical nurse.
Documents per the Remote Telemetry/Cardiac Monitoring Policy and related documents.
Responds to all alarms and initiates communication promptly. Understands clinical area chain of command for escalation as needed.
Notifies responsible direct care clinicians and supervisor immediately in the event of a failure of monitoring equipment.
Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of Basic ECG hybrid course upon hire and achievement of passing grade on EKG rhythm interpretation test upon completion of orientation
Successful completion of competency-based orientation program
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Demonstrates keyboarding and general computer skills
