The department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a postdoctoral research position in freshwater resources and environmental geochemistry. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Fakhreddine on an EPA-funded project. The project focuses on assessing the potential for managed aquifer recharge (MAR) across the United States and evaluating water quality impacts associated with various types of MAR. Preference will be given to candidates with previous research experience (lab, field, and/or modeling) and strong background in geochemistry, environmental chemistry, hydrology, or hydrogeology. Experience with geochemical speciation (e.g., PHREEQC, MINTEQ) and reactive transport models is preferred.
Core Responsibilities: Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing. Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and using specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data. Conduct research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of department and university. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Doctorate degree Required Strong Problem-Solving and Reasoning, Organization, Planning, Analytical, Oral and Written Communication Skills A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
