As a sterile processing team member, you will play a critical role in ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized for use in patient care. Responsibilities:
Assemble and prepare instrument trays and sets for sterilization, following established protocols and checklists. Clean, disinfect, and package medical and surgical instrument trays and inventories. Distribute instruments, equipment, and supplies to clinical areas as needed. Monitor and maintain adequate levels of supplies, instruments, and equipment. Identify and report malfunctions or damage to equipment and recommend repairs or replacement. Assist with the maintenance and reprocessing of endoscopes and other specialized equipment. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and activities. Requirements:
No licensure or certification required. Minimum 9 months' experience as a sterile tech (for positions at UNC Medical Center or Rex Hospital). Graduation from a sterile processing school (no experience required).
