Civil Engineer – Utility-Scale Renewable Energy

A leading national renewable energy developer is seeking a Civil Engineer with a strong background in utility-scale solar and land development projects. This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about clean energy and experienced in delivering technically sound, construction-ready civil designs.
About the Role
You will be responsible for leading or supporting the design and engineering of site development, grading, drainage, erosion control, and structural components across large-scale solar projects. The ideal candidate has experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and is comfortable managing design deliverables through various phases of development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop site civil plans including grading, stormwater, access roads, erosion control, and utility layouts.
- Produce and maintain AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings (profiles, corridors, sections, and surfaces).
- Perform cut/fill analysis and volume calculations for solar farm sites.
- Assist with structural detailing and design for foundations, pads, and support structures.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, local codes, and project-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- PE or EIT license preferred (or on track).
- 5+ years of experience in civil site design, ideally for renewable or energy infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with PVCase and structural design software is a plus.
- Familiarity with stormwater management, erosion control measures, and access road layout.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
