Opportunity for anesthesiologist to practice at Humboldt Park Health, a community hospital in the large and lively city of Chicago, IL. Humboldt Park Health is a 200-bed community hospital in Chicago. The small acute care facility has specialists in a range of areas, including emergency medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics, neurology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, family practice, pediatrics, podiatry, and behavioral health. Humboldt Park Health places a high value on robust relationships within its surgery department. Received a Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award for Stroke Care from the American Heart Association. Case Assignments include general surgery, orthopedic surgery, GI, and more. There are many opportunities to do regional blocks with ortho cases and very light OB at this location. At the Humboldt Park Health site, the medical doctors’ practice is apportioned evenly between independent work and supervision. Responsibilities include assisting in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department; medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures; pre-anesthesia assessment; obtaining and/or verifying patient consent; discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient; induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia; monitoring of the patient's physiological condition; and performance of clinical intervention as needed. Requirements include M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMC and FLEX, completion of approved residency in anesthesia, and current physician license. The position offers a salary of $500K, sign-on bonus of $50K, chief stipend of $30K, generous paid time off, and a benefits package including health, life, vision, dental, disability, and AD&D insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts/Health Savings Accounts, 401(k), profit sharing, fully paid malpractice insurance coverage, and leadership and professional development opportunities.
