Annual Bonus Job Description
Our firm is seeking a Director of Finance/Controller to oversee the firm’s accounting/finance functions. Position will oversee accounts receivable and payable, and financial transaction reports. You’ll execute monthly client billing and answer any client inquiries concerning those invoices. This is an excellent opportunity to play an important role that has a tremendous impact on the business. Responsibilities
Trust Account Reconciliation, adhering to all requirements (and above!) for law firm accounting Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables and accounts receivables process Assist in our year-end audit with financial reporting and analysis Work with staff and clients to address client charges on invoices Handle both accounts receivable and accounts payable and distribute monthly client invoices Reconcile general ledgers, prepare financial transaction reports such as income and loss statements, balance sheets, and account reconciliations Run payroll for staff and attorneys and prepare annual W-2’s and 1099’s, and prepare tax filings Manage cash flow, budgets, forecast, financial planning. Qualifications
8 plus years of previous experience in accounting or full-charge accounting experience in the legal industry (litigation/plaintiff law firm) Knowledge of trust account distribution A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred Must have excellent organization, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, ideally Sage/Intacct Must have QuickBooks Online experience and knowledge. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures Seniority level
