As a Corporate Credit Analyst, you will have the benefit of being exposed to businesses in many different industries.
You will also be exposed to the bank executives on a regular basis, with opportunities to take minutes and present loans to loan committees that are comprised of various bank leaders and members of the TAB’s Board of Directors.
This position is best suited for an individual who is looking for experience reviewing and analyzing moderate to complex transactions for TAB’s various commercial products, which include small business term loans, asset based lines of credit, factoring lines, and transportation equipment term loans.
As an analyst, you can expect to work with many of the different departments of TAB Bank, including sales staff, portfolio and relationship managers, legal documentation specialists, and treasury management specialists.
You will gain a broader understanding of the various aspects of banking through these interactions.
You will also gain experience working with third-party professionals like brokers, field examiners, and appraisers.
At TAB, the analyst position is intended to offer training and experience that will help you grow and be prepared to move into positions such as an underwriter or relationship manager.
Job Description:
Daily responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing routine to moderately complex application packages for commercial working capital facilities, factoring facilities, and term debt facilities and make sound credit decisions based on in-depth analysis.
The Corporate Credit Analyst works with underwriters, sales/business development, and external business partners in the preparation of formal Credit Summaries while often communicating with the client for information needed to complete the underwriting process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze financial statements and ratios, business/product cycles, collateral, industry risk, management, historical and projected operating performance, and cash flow coverage to develop an assessment of the credit risk and determine credit worthiness.
Prepare financial statement spreads upon review of accountant-prepared and/or company-prepared financial statements to assist in evaluating financial condition, and operating trends of prospective Borrowers.
Analyze personal financial statements and income tax returns of prospective individual guarantors.
Perform detailed collateral analysis on accounts receivable, inventory and other collateral supporting commercial working capital transactions.
Assist in preparing in-depth written credit summaries for submission to Loan Committee and/or individual credit authorities for formal credit approval.
Correspond verbally and in writing with applicants, client representatives and other business partners on reasons for credit decisions and/or the request for additional information prior to a formal decision.
Obtain credit reports, as well as conduct company and industry research.
Ensure compliance with bank policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Working towards, or have completed, a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics and/or related field of study.
One to two years equivalent work experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Excel.
Experian, Paynet, and/or other similar credit reporting tools.
Strong written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to exercise good judgment in forming an opinion on prospective credits.
